FAQ’s for Creators

Can’t find an answer to a question you have? Reach out to us!

  • Starting your UGC career is not as scary as it sounds. Getting started is the first step. You can always refine later! Think about how you would start any business: brainstorm what you want to offer, do your market research, and PRACTICE. You can start by filming aesthetic concepts with some of your favorite products at home. Look to other UGC creators for inspiration (but DO NOT copy). We all have a unique perspective to offer that will shape our online presence, the fun part is crafting your own.

  • You may feel like you need tons of equipment to begin, but if you have a phone with a good quality camera and a place with natural lighting, that’s half the battle. You may also need a microphone (a mini one that attaches to your clothing is perfect for voiceovers), or a ring light for areas that don’t have as much direct sunlight.

  • Not unless the brand asks you to or you’re comfortable doing so. You can specialize in environmental shots (using the environment around you to draw attention to the product) and aesthetic shots that involve your hands.

  • You’re your own boss and it’s your responsibility to manage deadlines and deliverables. This is crucial for the success of any business, not just content creation. But if you’re passionate about filming, editing, creating engaging content, and getting that perfect shot, you’ll be unstoppable!

Wanna know what it really takes to be a UGC creator? Schedule a consulting call with us! We want to answer the questions specific to your situation and help you flourish into the freelancer you truly want to become.

  • At AV Creative we’re all about keeping things simple (not gatekeeping). We use CapCut for all major editing, shoot on our iPhones, use DropBox or Google Drive to organize assets, and post in app. Easy peasy!

Pro tip: Invest in an external hard-drive (2TB at least) and keep all your digital assets organized off of your laptop or desktop. There’s nothing worse that having a 24 hour turnaround for a concept but you’re out of storage and can’t send it to your client!
